Some extra features include a basket, seat upgrades, handlebar accessories (mirror etc..) and any custom work you want done for aesthetics.

Most people won't need more than the standard features but things like a better battery for longer life or even a spare battery just in case are amongst some of the more important choices you'll make when looking for a scooter.

Your best bet is to do your homework first. Before you even step foot into the dealerships for scooters, you should go online and see what's available, the average prices, forum posts with information about quality and weather or not the company supports their product effectively. You can even find information about where to find it cheaper or even online deals (you can find it offline then run the model number to purchase the same model online - sometimes there is a great deal for online purchasing - try Google or Craigslist.
